About Dr. Zheng Zhimin

"I discovered my natural sensitivity to empathise with other people over the years, when family and friends would come to me with their deepest emotional concerns.

During the journey of studying to be a physician, I have acknowledged this gift and decided to practice Psychiatry, where listening is key to the start of healing in a person with mental health difficulties."

My story

Hello,

I am Dr. Zheng and I am a Consultant Psychiatrist in private practice. I have practiced as a General Psychiatrist in the public health sector for more than 10 years, treating and managing common mental health disorders. Over the years, I have also developed a passion for gender & sexual minority mental health, as well as women's mental health.

As a female doctor and full-time working mother of two young children, I understand how challenging it can be to juggle multiple responsibilities and roles. Sometimes along the way, we can lose sight of who we are. This is why I focus on understanding who my patients are as individuals.

"Recovery is not just about treating the symptoms, but also to build resilience and confidence to navigate Life's challenges as they come."

Being fluent in Mandarin has helped me reach more meaningfully into many patients' lives; there shouldn't be any barriers to mental healthcare for those who can't express themselves well in English.

As a physician, there is nothing more rewarding than to journey with individuals on their paths to recovery, along with their loved ones and caregivers.

My approach

Discreet & Non-judgemental

As a Psychiatrist, I understand how sensitive and vulnerable it can feel to share your deepest concerns in a clinical setting. I aim to provide a safe and open space for you to share without worrying about being judged.

You are your life's expert

I believe that the doctor-patient relationship should be of a collaborative nature, rather than a prescriptive one.

I encourage you to share your preferences and concerns throughout the process of consultation and treatment, as your opinion matters.

You won't feel rushed

Time is of the essence - but in our consultations, it is important to me that you are able to share at your own pace. You will also be able to decide your preferences for treatment, and to start only when you are ready.

Continuing support

Recovery is a journey where there can be ups and downs, rather than a straight path. As your mental health provider, I am here to provide support at various stages of your life when you need it.

I am also open to speak with your loved ones to educate them about what you are going through.
